defend Your friend allahumma idfa’ `an waliyyika اللَّهُمَّ ادْفَعْ عَنْ وَلِيِّكَ and representative—a decisive argument for mankind wa khalifatika wa hujjatika ‘ala khalqika وَخَلِيفَتِكَ وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلَى خَلْقِكَ Your mouthpiece who speaks on behalf of You wa lisanikal-mu’abbiri ‘anka وَلِسَانِكَ الْمُعَبِّرِ عَنْكَ The speaker with Your wisdom an-natiqi bi-hikmatika النَّاطِقِ بِحِكْمَتِكَ Your eye that sees with Your permission wa ‘aynikan-na¨irati bi-idhnika وَعَيْنِكَ النَّاظِرَةِ بِإِذْنِكَ Your witness on Your servants washahidika ‘ala ‘ibadika وَشَاهِدِكَ عَلَى عِبَادِكَ The master and the struggler (for the sake of Allah) al-jahjahil-mujahidi الْجَحْجَاحِ الْمُجَاهِدِ The seeker of Your shelter and the full worshipper in Your measures al-‘a`id'i bikal-‘abidi ‘indak الْعَائِذِ بِكَ الْعَابِدِ عِنْدَكَ O Allah!
