WA BIL-GHAAFILEENA A'N D'IK-RIHEE RAH'EEMUR-RA-OOFOO-WA BIJAD'-BIHIM ILAA BAABIHEE WADOODUN A'T'OOF أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَنِي مِنْ I ask you to place me amongst those who have- AS-ALUKA AN TAJ-A'LANEE MIN أَوْفَرِهِمْ مِنْكَ حَظّاً، the most share from you AW-FARIHIM MINKA H'AZ'-Z'AA وَأَعْلاهُمْ عِنْدَكَ مَنْزِلاً، And the highest station with you WA AA'-LAAHUM I'NDAKA MANZILAA وَأَجْزَلِهِـمْ مِنْ وُدِّكَ قِسَمـاً، And the most plentiful portion of your love, WA AJ-ZALIHIM MIW-WUD-DIKA QIS-MAA وَأَفْضَلِهِمْ فِي مَعْرِفَتِكَ نَصِيباً، And the most excellent share of your knowledge, WA AF-Z''ALIHIM FEE MAA'-RIFATIKA NAS'EEBAA فَقَدِ انْقطَعَتْ إلَيْكَ هِمَّتِي، for my desire has been cut off from everything else but you FAQADI ANQAT'AA'T ILAY-KA HIM-MATEE وَانْصَرَفَتْ نَحْوَكَ رَغْبَتِي، and my desire has turned towards you and only you WA ANS'ARAFAT NAH'-WAKA RAGH-BATEE فَأَنْتَ لاَ غَيْرُكَ مُرادِي، you and only you are my focus, none other; FAANTA LAA GHAY-RUKA MURAADEE وَلَكَ لا لِسِواكَ سَهَرِي وَسُهادِي، And only for you alone belongs my waking and my sleeplessness.

WA LAKA LAA LISIWAAKA SAHAREE WA SUHAADEE وَلِقاؤُكَ قُرَّةُ عَيْني، Meeting you is the gladness of my eye, WA LIQAAAW-UKA QUR-RATU A'Y-NEE وَوَصْلُكَ مُنى نَفْسِي، And joining you is the wish of my soul. WA WAS'-LUKA MUNAA NAF-SEE وَإلَيْكَ شَوْقِي، And towards you is my yearning, WA ILAY-KA SHAW-QEE وَفِي مَحَبَّتِكَ وَلَهِي، And In my love for you is my longing passion WA FEE MAH'AB-BATIKA WALAHEE وَإلى هَواكَ صَبابَتِي، And in inclining toward you is my fervent craving.

WA ILAA HAWAAKA S'ABAABATEE وَرِضاكَ بُغْيَتي، And your pleasure is what I seek, WA RIZ''AAKA BUGH-YATEE وَرُؤْيَتُكَ حاجَتِي، And to see you is my wish WA ROO-YATUKA H'AAJATEE وَجِوارُكَ طَلَبِي، And to be your neighbor is my request, WA JIWAARUKA T'ALABEE وَقُرْبُكَ غايَةُ سُؤْلِي، And my nearness to you is the utmost purpose of my asking . WA QUR-BUKA GHAYATU SOO-LEE وَفِي مُنَاجَاتِكَ رَوْحِي وَراحَتِي، In reciting a whispered prayer to you, do I find my relaxation and ease.

WA FEE MUNAJAATIKA RAW-H'EE WA RAAH'ATEE وَعِنْدَكَ دَوآءُ عِلَّتِي، And with you lies the remedy of my illness, WA I'NDAK DAWAAA-U I'L-LATEE وَشِفآءُ غُلَّتِي، And the cure for my burning thirst, WA SHIFAAA-U GHUL-LATEE وَبَرْدُ لَوْعَتِي، And the coolness of my burning passion WA BAR-DU LAW-A'TEE وَكَشْفُ كُرْبَتِي. And the removal of my distress.
