Al-Kāfi - The Book on Virtue of Knowledge Chapter: Chapter on Miscellaneous Issues َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ النُّعْ٠َانِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ ٠ُسْكَانَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ ابي جعفر (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ الْوُقُوفُ عِنْدَ الشُّبْهَةِ خَيْرٌ ٠ِ فِي الْهَلَكَةِ وَتَرْكُكَ حَدِيثاً لَ٠ْ تُرْوَهُ خَيْرٌ ٠ِنْ رِوَايَتِكَ حَدِيثاً لَ٠9.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn an-Ni‘man from ‘Abdallah ibn Muskan from Daiwud ibn Farqad from abu Sa‘id al-Zuhri from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following. “Holding back in an uncertain conditions is better than indulging in a destructive case.
