Al-Kāfi - The Book on Oneness of Allah (God) Chapter: Chapter On The relationships (Nisbah) Of Allah َدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ عَنْ ٠ٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ سَأَلُوا رَسُولَ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) فَقَالُوا انْسِبْ لَنَا رَبَّكَ فَلَبِثَ ثَلاثاً لا يُجِيبُهُ٠َّ نَزَلَتْ قُلْ هُوَ الله أَحَدٌ إِلَى آخِرِهَا.

وَرَوَاهُ ٠َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَ٠ِ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ. 1. Ahmad ibn Idris has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan ibn Yahya from abu Ayyub from Muhammad ibn Muslim from abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) who has said the following.

“The Jews asked the Messenger of Allah (s.a.), ‘Describe for us the genealogy- of your Lord.’” The Prophet waited for three days and gave no. Then the following verses were revealed to him: In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful (Muhammad), say, “He is the only God (112:1). God is Absolute (112:2). He neither begets nor was He begotten (112:3). There is no one equal to Him (112:4).
