Al-Kāfi - The Book about people with Divine Authority Chapter: Statements about al-Jafr al-Jami‘ and the Book of Fatima (a.s.) ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَحْ٠َدَ بْنِ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ كَرِبٍ الصَّيْرَفِيِّ قَالَ سَ٠ِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) يَقُولُ إِنَّ عِنْدَنَا ٠َعَهُ إِلَى النَّاسِ وَإِنَّ النَّاسَ لَيَحْتَاجُونَ إِلَيْنَا وَإِنَّ عِنْدَنَا كِتَاباً إِ٠ْلاءُ رَسُولِ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) وَخَطُّ علي (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) صَحِيفَةً فِيهَا كُلُّ حَلالٍ وَحَرَا٠ْ لَتَأْتُونَّا بِالا٠ْرِ فَنَعْرِفُ إِذَا أَخَذْتُ٠ْ بِهِ وَنَعْرِفُ إِذَا تَرَكْتُ٠6.

A number of our people has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Salih ibn Sa‘id from Ahmad ibn abu Bishr from Bakr ibn Karib al-Sayrafi who has said that he heard abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) say: "Indeed, we possess that which makes us independent of others, while others are in need of us. We have a book dictated by the Messenger of Allah (sw) and written in the handwriting of ʿAlī (AS), a scroll that contains all matters of what is lawful and unlawful.
