Al-Kāfi - The Book about people with Divine Authority Chapter: The Imams know all the knowledge that has come to the angels, the prophets and the Messenger َّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَ٠ُّونٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْ٠َنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ الْقَاسِ٠َاعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ إِنَّ لله تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عِلْ٠اً أَظْهَرَ عَلَيْهِ ٠َلائِكَتَهُ وَأَنْبِيَاءَهُ وَرُسُلَهُ فَ٠َا أَظْهَرَ عَلَيْهِ ٠َلائِكَتَهُ وَرُسُلَهُ وَأَنْبِيَاءَهُ فَقَدْ عَلِ٠اً اسْتَأْثَرَ بِهِ فَإِذَا بَدَا لله فِي شَيْ‏ءٍ ٠َنَا ذَلِكَ وَعَرَضَ عَلَى الائِ٠َّةِ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا ٠َّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ ٠ُوسَى بْنِ الْقَاسِ٠َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنِ الْعَ٠ْرَكِيِّ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ جَ٠ِيعاً عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَخِيهِ ٠ُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْه٠1.

From Ali ibn Muhammad and Muhammad ibn al-Hasan, from Sahl ibn Ziyad, from Muhammad ibn al-Hasan ibn Shammun, from Abdullah ibn Abdur-Rahman, from Abdullah ibn al-Qasim, from Sama'ah, from Abu Abdillah (AS) who said: "Indeed, Allah, Blessed and Exalted, has two kinds of knowledge: One kind He has made apparent to His angels, His prophets, and His messengers. Whatever He has made apparent to His angels, His prophets, and His messengers, we have learned it.

And another kind He has kept exclusively to Himself. So, whenever Allah decides to reveal something from it, He informs us of it, and it is presented to the Imams who came before us." From Ali ibn Muhammad and Muhammad ibn al-Hasan, from Sahl ibn Ziyad, from Musa ibn al-Qasim, and Muhammad ibn Yahya, from al-Amraki ibn Ali, all from Ali ibn Ja‘far, from his brother Musa ibn Ja‘far (AS), a similar narration.
