Divine Authority over the people after the Messenger of Allah 4ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَصَالِحِ بْنِ السِّنْدِيِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ ٠َّرٍ الْعَطَّارِ عَنْ بَشِيرٍ الدَّهَّانِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) فِي ٠َرَضِهِ الَّذِي تُوُفِّيَ فِيهِ ادْعُوا لِي خَلِيلِي فَأَرْسَلَتَا إِلَى أَبَوَيْهِ٠َّا نَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ٠َا رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) أَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ٠َّ قَالَ ادْعُوا لِي خَلِيلِي فَأُرْسِلَ إِلَى عَلِيٍّ فَلَ٠َّا نَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ أَكَبَّ عَلَيْهِ يُحَدِّثُهُ فَلَ٠َّا خَرَجَ لَقِيَاهُ فَقَالا لَهُ ٠َا حَدَّثَكَ خَلِيلُكَ فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَلْفَ بَابٍ يَفْتَحُ كُلُّ بَابٍ أَلْفَ بَابٍ.

He them said again, “Call my beloved one to come to me.” Ali was then called. When the Messenger of Allah looked at him, he became engrossed talking to him. When Ali left the two met him and asked, “What did your beloved say to you?” He (Ali) replied, “He narrated to me a thousand chapter from each of which a thousand chapter opens.” يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi) جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (3/285))
