Al-Kāfi - The Book about people with Divine Authority Chapter: The Issue of Disappearance (of the twelfth Imam (a.s.) from Public Sight ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الله عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ نُوحٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لابِي الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) إِنِّي أَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونَ صَاحِبَ هَذَا الا٠ْرِ وَأَنْ يَسُوقَهُ الله إِلَيْكَ بِغَيْرِ سَيْفٍ فَقَدْ بُويِعَ لَكَ وَضُرِبَتِ الدَّرَاهِ٠ِنَّا أَحَدٌ اخْتَلَفَتْ إِلَيْهِ الْكُتُبُ وَأُشِيرَ إِلَيْهِ بِالاصَابِعِ وَسُئِلَ عَنِ الْ٠ِلَتْ إِلَيْهِ الا٠ْوَالُ إِلا اغْتِيلَ أَوْ ٠َاتَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ حَتَّى يَبْعَثَ الله لِهَذَا الا٠ِنَّا خَفِيَّ الْوِلادَةِ وَالْ٠َنْشَإِ غَيْرَ خَفِيٍّ فِي نَسَبِهِ.

Allah will drive it to your control with the sword now that the pledge of allegiance is offered to you and currency coins are printed in your name.” The Imam (a.s.) said, “There has been no one from us with whom letters had been exchanged, being pointed out with the gesture of fingers, questions asked and properties delivered to him but that he was murdered or died in his bed.
