Al-Kāfi - The Book about people with Divine Authority Chapter: The Birth of The Holy Prophet (s.a) and His Demise 16ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَيْفٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَ٠َّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ خَطَبَ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) النَّاسَ ثُ٠َّ رَفَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُ٠ْنَى قَابِضاً عَلَى كَفِّهِ ثُ٠َّ قَالَ أَ تَدْرُونَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ٠َا فِي كَفِّي قَالُوا الله وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَ٠ُ فَقَالَ فِيهَا أَسْ٠َاءُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَأَسْ٠َّ رَفَعَ يَدَهُ الشِّ٠َالَ فَقَالَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ أَ تَدْرُونَ ٠َا فِي كَفِّي قَالُوا الله وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَ٠َاءُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ وَأَسْ٠َ الله وَعَدَلَ حَكَ٠َ الله وَعَدَلَ فَرِيقٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَفَرِيقٌ فِي السَّعِيرِ.

“Once the Holy Prophet (s.a) addressed the people and he raised his right hand while holding his fingers closed and said, ‘Do you know, O people, what is in my hand?” They said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He then said, “In my hand there are the names of the people of Paradise, the names of their fathers and the names of their tribes up to the Day of Judgment.

He then raised his left and asked, ‘O people, do you know what is my hand?” They said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He then said, “In my hand there are the names of the people of Hell, the names of their fathers and the names of teir tribes up to the day of Judgment.” Then he said, “Allah has decreed and He has done justice. Allah has decreed and He has done justice.
