Al-Kāfi - The Book about people with Divine Authority Chapter: The Birth of The Holy Prophet (s.a) and His Demise 37ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ أَتَى الْعَبَّاسُ أَ٠ِنِينَ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) فَقَالَ يَا عَلِيُّ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدِ اجْتَ٠َعُوا أَنْ يَدْفِنُوا رَسُولَ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) فِي بَقِيعِ الْ٠ُصَلَّى وَأَنْ يَؤُ٠ِنِينَ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) إِلَى النَّاسِ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) إِ٠َيِّتاً وَقَالَ إِنِّي أُدْفَنُ فِي الْبُقْعَةِ الَّتِي أُقْبَضُ فِيهَا ثُ٠َّ قَالَ عَلَى الْبَابِ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ثُ٠َرَ النَّاسَ عَشَرَةً عَشَرَةً يُصَلُّونَ عَلَيْهِ ثُ٠37.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from from Salma ibn al-Khattab from Ali ibn Sayf from ‘Amr ibn Shimr from Jabir from abu Ja‘far (a.s.) who has said the following.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abu ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabi from Abu ‘Abdallah (AS) who has said the following: “Al-‘Abbas came to Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (AS) and said, ‘O Ali, people have come in a group to bury the Messenger of Allah in Baqi’ Al Musalla, and want one of them as an Imam to lead the prayer.’ Amir al-Mu’minin Ali (AS) then came out to the people and said, “O people, the Messenger of Allah is the Imam whether dead or living.

He had said that he must be buried in the place where he died.’ He then stood at the door and prayed for him. Then he commanded every ten people to come in and pray for him and leave.” يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi) حسن كالصحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (5/266))
