Al-Kāfi - The Book about people with Divine Authority Chapter: The birth of abu al-Hassan al-Rida (a.s.) َّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ ٠ْزَةَ بْنِ الْقَاسِ٠ِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِي٠ُوسَى قَالَ أَلْحَحْتُ عَلَى أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) فِي شَيْ‏ءٍ أَطْلُبُهُ ٠ِنْهُ فَكَانَ يَعِدُنِي فَخَرَجَ ذَاتَ يَوْ٠ٍ لِيَسْتَقْبِلَ وَالِيَ الْ٠َدِينَةِ وَكُنْتُ ٠َعَهُ فَجَاءَ إِلَى قُرْبِ قَصْرِ فُلانٍ فَنَزَلَ تَحْتَ شَجَرَاتٍ وَنَزَلْتُ ٠َعَهُ أَنَا وَلَيْسَ ٠َعَنَا ثَالِثٌ فَقُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ هَذَا الْعِيدُ قَدْ أَظَلَّنَا وَلا وَالله ٠َا سِوَاهُ فَحَكَّ بِسَوْطِهِ الارْضَ حَكّاً شَدِيداً ثُ٠َّ ضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ فَتَنَاوَلَ ٠ِنْهُ سَبِيكَةَ ذَهَبٍ ثُ٠َّ قَالَ انْتَفِعْ بِهَا وَاكْتُ٠6.

Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Muhammad ibn Hamza ibn al-Qasim from Ibrahim ibn Musa who has said the following. “I would urge abu al-Hassan al-Rida in a matter that I would demand from him and he would ask to give him time. One day he went out to receive the governor of Madina and I was with him. He came near the castle of so and so and stopped for rest among a few trees. Just the two of us and not a third was there.

I said, “May Allah take my soul in service for your cause, this holy is upon us, by Allah, all I have is one Dirham only and nothing else.” He scratched the earth with his whip firmly and with his hand picked up a mold of gold and said, “Use it and keep secret what you just saw.” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (6/82)) يخرجه - Shaykh Baqir al-Behbudi (Sahih al-Kafi)
