Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief Chapter: Love for the Sake of Allah and Hate for the Sake of Allah ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عُثْ٠َانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَ٠ِهْرَانَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ إِنَّ الْ٠َيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ فَأَفْضَلُهُ٠َا حُبّاً لِصَاحِبِهِ. 14.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama’a ibn Mehran from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Of the two Muslims who meet each other, the more meritorious is the one who loves his companion more intensely.” وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (8/266))
