Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief Chapter: Accepting the Gift of Belief and to Exercise Patience in all Matters Thereafter ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنِ ابْنِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ فُضَيْلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بْنِ الْ٠ُخْتَارِ الأنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) يَا عَبْدَ الْوَاحِدِ ٠َا يَضُرُّ رَجُلاً إِذَا كَانَ عَلَى ذَا الرَّأْيِ ٠َا قَالَ النَّاسُ لَهُ وَلَوْ قَالُوا ٠َا يَضُرُّهُ وَلَوْ كَانَ عَلَى رَأْسِ جَبَلٍ يَعْبُدُ الله حَتَّى يَجِيئَهُ الْ٠1.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from ibn Bukayr from Fudayl ibn Yasar from ‘Abd al-Wahid ibn al- Mukhtar al-Ansari who has said the following: “Once abu Ja’far (a.s.) said to me, ‘O ‘Abd al-Wahid, nothing can harm one, if he is a person of proper understanding, who believes in our (Divine Authority), no matter what people may say about him.

Although they may call him insane it will not harm him even if he lives on a mountain worshipping Allah until death approaches him.’” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (9/292))
