Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief 5ـ عَلِيٌّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠ِنِينَ (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) يَقُولُ لا تُبْدِيَنَّ عَنْ وَاضِحَةٍ وَقَدْ عَ٠َالَ الْفَاضِحَةَ وَلا يَأْ٠ِلَ السَّيِّئَاتِ. 5.

Ali has narrated from his father from al-Nawfali from al-Sakuni from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Amir al-Mu’minin, Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.) has said, ‘You must never show your teeth (smile) when you have committed disgraceful deeds and never feel safe from misfortune to strike you due to (your) sinful deeds.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (9/401))
