Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief 5ـ عَنْهُ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِي٠َّدٍ الأشْعَرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الأعْلَى قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠ْنِي عِظَةً أَتَّعِظُ بِهَا فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) أَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ الله عَلِّ٠ْنِي عِظَةً أَتَّعِظُ بِهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ انْطَلِقْ وَلا تَغْضَبْ ثُ٠َّ أَعَادَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ انْطَلِقْ وَلا تَغْضَبْ ثَلاثَ ٠5.

It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from ibn Faddal from Ibrahim ibn Muhammad al-Ash’ari from ‘Abd al-‘Ala who has said the following: “Once I said to Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) ‘Please teach me good advice that will help me learn a lesson.’ The Imam said, ‘Once a man came to the Messenger of Allah and said, “O Messenger of Allah, teach me an advice that will help me learn a good lesson.” The Messenger of Allah said, ‘Go, but do not become angry.’ The man repeated his question the Messenger of Allah said three times, ‘Go and do not become angry.’” جهول كالحسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (0/149))
