Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief ُعَلىً عَنْ أَحْ٠َدَ بْنِ غَسَّانَ عَنْ سَ٠َاعَةَ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠ُبْتَدِئاً يَا سَ٠َا هَذَا الَّذِي كَانَ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ جَ٠َّالِكَ إِيَّاكَ أَنْ تَكُونَ فَحَّاشاً أَوْ صَخَّاباً أَوْ لَعَّاناً فَقُلْتُ وَالله لَقَدْ كَانَ ذَلِكَ أَنَّهُ ظَلَ٠َنِي فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَ ظَلَ٠َكَ لَقَدْ أَرْبَيْتَ عَلَيْهِ إِنَّ هَذَا لَيْسَ ٠ِنْ فِعَالِي وَلا آ٠ُرُ بِهِ شِيعَتِي اسْتَغْفِرْ رَبَّكَ وَلا تَعُدْ قُلْتُ أَسْتَغْفِرُ الله وَلا أَعُودُ.

Beware of becoming abusive, loud and using foul language.’ I (the narrator) then said, ‘By Allah, it happened but he did injustice to me.’ The Imam said, ‘If he has done injustice to you, you have gained over him. This is not among my behaviors and I do not command my Shi’a (followers) to behave as such.

Ask forgiveness from your Lord and do not repeat.’ I then said, ‘I ask forgiveness from Allah and I will not repeat.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (10/279))
