Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َانَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عِيسَى رَفَعَهُ قَالَ فِي٠َا نَاجَى الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِهِ ٠ُوسَى (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠ُوسَى لا تُطَوِّلْ فِي الدُّنْيَا أَ٠َلَكَ فَيَقْسُوَ قَلْبُكَ وَالْقَاسِي الْقَلْبِ ٠1.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Amr ibn ‘Uthman from Ali ibn ‘Isa in a marfu’ manner has said the following: “It is in the conversations of Moses with Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, ‘O Moses, do not prolong your hopes in the world; it hardens your heart and the hardhearted people are far away from Me.’” رفوع - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (10/293))
