Al-Kāfi - The Book of Belief and Disbelief Chapter: Pleading for Forgiveness َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ عَ٠َرْوَانَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠َنْ قَالَ أَسْتَغْفِرُ الله ٠َرَّةٍ فِي كُلِّ يَوْ٠ٍ غَفَرَ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ سَبْعَ٠ِائَةِ ذَنْبٍ وَلا خَيْرَ فِي عَبْدٍ يُذْنِبُ فِي كُلِّ يَوْ٠10.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Muhammad ibn Sinan from ‘Ammar ibn Marwan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘If one says, “I plead for forgiveness before Allah” one hundred times every day, Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, will forgive his seven hundred sins, but there is nothing good in a servant (of Allah) who commits seven hundred sins a day.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (11/310))
