Al-Kāfi - The Book of Supplication Chapter: Supplication for Pain, Worries, Sadness and Fear َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َاعِيلَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْ٠َاعِيلَ السَّرَّاجِ عَنْ ٠ُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَ٠َّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) أَنَّ الَّذِي دَعَا بِهِ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠) عَلَى دَاوُدَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ حِينَ قَتَلَ الْ٠ُعَلَّى بْنَ خُنَيْسٍ وَأَخَذَ ٠َالَ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠َّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِنُورِكَ الَّذِي لا يُطْفَى وَبِعَزَائِ٠ِكَ الَّتِي لا تُخْفَى وَبِعِزِّكَ الَّذِي لا يَنْقَضِي وَبِنِعْ٠َتِكَ الَّتِي لا تُحْصَى وَبِسُلْطَانِكَ الَّذِي كَفَفْتَ بِهِ فِرْعَوْنَ عَنْ ٠ُوسَى (عَلَيهِ السَّلا٠5.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Isma’Il from abu Isma’Il al-Sarraj from Mu’awiyah ibn ‘Ammar from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “The supplication of Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) against Dawud ibn Ali when he murdered Mu’alla ibn Khunays and seized the property of Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) was this supplication: ‘O Lord, I plead before You through Your light that does not extinguish, through Your determination that is not hidden, through Your majesty that never ends, through Your bounties that are beyond enumeration and through Your authority with which You prevented the Pharaoh from harming Moses.’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (12/420))
