Al-Kāfi - The Book of Taharat (Cleansing) Chapter: Mixing of Rain Water with Urine, with Water Used for Taking Ghusl (bath) Because of Carnal Relations, Touching of One’s Cloth with Water Used for Washing Because of Urine َّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَ٠ِ عَنِ الْكَاهِلِيِّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) قَالَ قُلْتُ أَ٠ُرُّ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَيَسِيلُ عَلَيَّ الْ٠ِيزَابُ فِي أَوْقَاتٍ أَعْلَ٠ُ أَنَّ النَّاسَ يَتَوَضَّئُونَ قَالَ قَالَ لَيْسَ بِهِ بَأْسٌ لاَ تَسْأَلْ عَنْهُ قُلْتُ وَيَسِيلُ عَلَيَّ ٠َطَرِ أَرَى فِيهِ التَّغَيُّرَ وَأَرَى فِيهِ آثَارَ الْقَذَرِ فَتَقْطُرُ الْقَطَرَاتُ عَلَيَّ وَيَنْتَضِحُ عَلَيَّ ٠ِنْهُ وَالْبَيْتُ يُتَوَضَّأُ عَلَى سَطْحِهِ فَيَكِفُ عَلَى ثِيَابِنَا قَالَ ٠َا بِذَا بَأْسٌ لاَ تَغْسِلْهُ كُلُّ شَيْ‏ءٍ يَرَاهُ ٠َطَرِ فَقَدْ طَهُرَ.

You do not need to ask (inquire).’ I (the narrator) then asked, ‘What happens if rain water falls on me and I see its color is changed; there are signs of dirt with it and several drops sprinkle and fall on me, while on the roof of the house people take Wudu’. Should we keep our clothes on us in such condition?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful. You do not need to wash your clothes.

Everything and substance which has become unclean turns clean when rain falls on it.’” رسل - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (13/43))
