Al-Kāfi - The Book of Taharat (Cleansing) Chapter: Expressions to Say When Entering a Lavatory and When Coming Out 9ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ الْ٠ُغِيرَةِ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ لِلاسْتِنْجَاءِ حَدٌّ قَالَ لاَ يُنَقَّى ٠َّةَ قُلْتُ فَإِنَّهُ يُنَقَّى ٠َّةَ وَيَبْقَى الرِّيحُ قَالَ الرِّيحُ لاَ يُنْظَرُ إِلَيْهَا.

5 He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not clean as long as something is there.’ I then asked, ‘What happens if everything there is washed clean but smell is there?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Smell is not a thing that can be seen.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (13/56))
