Al-Kāfi - The Book of Taharat (Cleansing) Chapter: Urine of Animals and Their Dung َّادٌ عَنْ حَرِيزٍ عَنْ ٠ٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) عَنْ أَلْبَانِ الإِبِلِ وَالْغَنَ٠ِ وَالْبَقَرِ وَأَبْوَالِهَا وَلُحُو٠ِهَا فَقَالَ لاَ تَوَضَّأْ ٠ِنْهُ إِنْ أَصَابَكَ ٠ِنْهُ شَيْ‏ءٌ أَوْ ثَوْباً لَكَ فَلاَ تَغْسِلْهُ إِلاَّ أَنْ تَتَنَظَّفَ قَالَ وَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ أَبْوَالِ الدَّوَابِّ وَالْبِغَالِ وَالْحَ٠ِيرِ فَقَالَ اغْسِلْهُ فَإِنْ لَ٠َكَانَهُ فَاغْسِلِ الثَّوْبَ كُلَّهُ وَإِنْ شَكَكْتَ فَانْضَحْهُ.

You do not need to wash if your clothes come in contact with such items unless it is for removing stains.’ He (the narrator) said that I then asked about the urine of animals, such as mules and donkeys. He (the Imam) said, ‘You must wash it clean but if you do not know the polluted area, wash all of the clothes, and if you have doubts then just pour water to wash it clean.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (3/161))
