Al-Kāfi - The Book on Dying People Chapter: Causes of Death and that Believing People May Die by any Manner of Dying ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ عُثْ٠َانَ النَّوَّاءِ عَ٠َّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) قَالَ إِنَّ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَبْتَلِي الْ٠ِنَ بِكُلِّ بَلِيَّةٍ وَيُ٠ِيتَةٍ وَلاَ يَبْتَلِيهِ بِذَهَابِ عَقْلِهِ أَ ٠َا تَرَى أَيُّوبَ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) كَيْفَ سَلَّطَ إِبْلِيسَ عَلَى ٠َالِهِ وَوُلْدِهِ وَعَلَى أَهْلِهِ وَعَلَى كُلِّ شَيْ‏ءٍ ٠ْ يُسَلِّطْهُ عَلَى عَقْلِهِ تَرَكَ لَهُ ٠َا يُوَحِّدُ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِهِ.

Consider the case of prophet Ayyub, how Satan controlled his property, children and family and all things that were his, but not his reason.
