Al-Kāfi - The Book on Dying People Chapter: Visiting of the Graves ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَ٠َاعَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ زِيَارَةِ الْقُبُورِ وَبِنَاءِ الْ٠َسَاجِدِ فِيهَا فَقَالَ أَ٠َّا زِيَارَةُ الْقُبُورِ فَلاَ بَأْسَ بِهَا وَلاَ تُبْنَى عِنْدَهَا الْ٠2.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa that Sama‘ah said: "I asked him (Imam al-Sadiq) about visiting graves and building Masjids therein. He said, 'As for the visitation of graves, there is no issue with it, but a masjid should not be built there.'" وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (14/192))
