Al-Kāfi - The Book of Prayer

Chapter: Performing Two Salah (Prayer) Soon After the Other َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ حَ٠َانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ٠ِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠ْعُ بَيْنَ الصَّلاَتَيْنِ إِذَا لَ٠ْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَهُ٠َا تَطَوُّعٌ فَإِذَا كَانَ بَيْنَهُ٠َا تَطَوُّعٌ فَلاَ جَ٠4.

Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from Muhammad ibn Musa from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn Faddal from Hammad ibn ‘Uthman who has said the following: “Muhammad ibn Hakim narrated to me that he had heard abu al-Hassan (a.s.), say, ‘Performing two Salah (prayer) soon one after the other is when no optional Salah (prayer) is performed between them.
