3.Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn âIsa ibn âUbayd from Yunus from Aban ibn âUthman from âIsmaâil al-Juâfiy who has said the following: âI once heard abu Jaâfar (a.s.), say, âAdhan and âIqamah consist of thirty-five letters.â He (the Imam) counted them by his hand one by one; Adhan eighteen letters and âIqamah seventeen letters.â ÙØ«Ù - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (5/82))
