Al-Kāfi - The Book of Prayer

Chapter: Commencement of Adhan, Iqamah, and the Excellence of Reading them َّدٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ ابْنِ ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) قَالَ كَانَ طُولُ حَائِطِ ٠َسْجِدِ رَسُولِ الله (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) قَا٠َةً فَكَانَ يَقُولُ (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) لِبِلاَلٍ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْوَقْتُ يَا بِلاَلُ اعْلُ فَوْقَ الْجِدَارِ وَارْفَعْ صَوْتَكَ بِالأذَانِ فَإِنَّ الله قَدْ وَكَّلَ بِالأذَانِ رِيحاً تَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى السَّ٠َاءِ وَإِنَّ الْ٠َلاَئِكَةَ إِذَا سَ٠ِنْ أَهْلِ الأرْضِ قَالُوا هَذِهِ أَصْوَاتُ أُ٠َّدٍ (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) بِتَوْحِيدِ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لأُ٠َّدٍ (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) حَتَّى يَفْرُغُوا ٠ِنْ تِلْكَ الصَّلاَةِ.

Allah has assigned a wind to raise Adhan to the heaven and that the angels upon hearing Adhan from the people of earth say, “This is the voice of the followers of about oneness of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious.” They ask forgiveness for the followers of Muhammad, O Allah grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, until they complete that prayer.’” شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (15/94))
