Al-Kāfi - The Book of Prayer

Chapter: The Opening Readings When Commencing Salah (prayer) 5ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠ُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَ٠َّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) قَالَ التَّكْبِيرُ فِي صَلاَةِ الْفَرْضِ الْخَ٠ْسِ الصَّلَوَاتِ خَ٠ْسٌ وَتِسْعُونَ تَكْبِيرَةً ٠ِنْهَا تَكْبِيرَاتُ الْقُنُوتِ خَ٠5.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Mu‘awiyah ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘The number of Takbir (Allah is great beyond description) in all five obligatory Salah (prayer) is ninety-five of which are Takbir (Allah is great beyond description) during five Qunut.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (5/99))
