Al-Kāfi - The Book of Prayer

Chapter: Performing Salah (Prayer) Inside Ka’bah, on its Top, al-Biya 4, Churches and Places where Performing Salah (prayer) Is Undesirable 8ـ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ قَالَ قَالَ الرِّضَا (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) كُلُّ طَرِيقٍ يُوطَأُ وَيُتَطَرَّقُ كَانَتْ فِيهِ جَادَّةٌ أَوْ لَ٠ْ تَكُنْ لاَ يَنْبَغِي الصَّلاَةُ فِيهِ قُلْتُ فَأَيْنَ أُصَلِّي قَالَ يَ٠ْنَةً وَيَسْرَةً.

It is not proper to perform Salah (prayer) on it.’ I then asked, ‘Where then one can perform Salah (prayer)?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘On its right or left sides.’” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (15/292))
