Al-Kāfi - The Book of Prayer

Chapter: Performing Salah (Prayer) Inside Ka’bah, on its Top, al-Biya 4, Churches and Places where Performing Salah (prayer) Is Undesirable َاعَةٌ عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ عَنْ ٠) قَالَ لاَ تُصَلَّى الْ٠َكْتُوبَةُ فِي الْكَعْبَةِ.

وَرُوِيَ فِي حَدِيثٍ آخَرَ يُصَلَّى فِي أَرْبَعِ جَوَانِبِهَا إِذَا اضْطُرَّ إِلَى ذَلِكَ. 18.

A group has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id from Fadalah ibn Ayyub from al-‘Ala’ from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “One of the two Imam, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said, ‘Do not perform obligatory Salah (prayer) in al- Ka‘bah.’” In another Hadith it is narrated that Salah (prayer) is performed toward four directions if one has no choice but to do so.” رسل - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (5/296))
