Al-Kāfi - The Book of al-Zakat Chapter: Grains Subject to Zakat 1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَ٠َّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ حَرِيزٍ عَنْ ٠ٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلا٠) عَنِ الْحُبُوبِ ٠ِنْهَا قَالَ الْبُرُّ وَالشَّعِيرُ وَالذُّرَةُ وَالدُّخْنُ وَالأرُزُّ وَالسُّلْتُ وَالْعَدَسُ وَالسِّ٠ُ كُلُّ هَذَا يُزَكَّى وَأَشْبَاهُهُ.

He (the Imam) said, ‘Zakat is due on wheat, barley, corn, millet, rice, suit (something similar to wheat and barley), lentil and sesame all are subject to Zakat as well as the like.’” حسن بسنديه - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (6/22))
