Al-Kāfi - The Book of Zakat

Chapter: One Who Asks for Help Without Actually Needing Help َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْقَاسِ٠ِ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ جَدِّهِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ عَنْ ٠ٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠ِنِينَ صَلَوَاتُ الله عَلَيْهِ اتَّبِعُوا قَوْلَ رَسُولِ الله (صلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) فَإِنَّهُ قَالَ ٠َنْ فَتَحَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ بَابَ ٠َسْأَلَةٍ فَتَحَ الله عَلَيْهِ بَابَ فَقْرٍ.

’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, ‘You should follow the words of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, who has said, “Whoever opens to himself the door of asking for help (begging), Allah opens to him the door of poverty.’”” ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (16/147))
