Al-Kāfi - The Book of Zakat

Chapter: Giving Charity After an Appeal From a Recipient 4ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ بِإِسْنَادٍ ذَكَرَهُ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ الْهَ٠ْدَانِيِّ قَالَ سَا٠ِنِينَ صَلَوَاتُ الله عَلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَ٠ِنِينَ عَرَضَتْ لِي حَاجَةٌ قَالَ فَرَأَيْتَنِي لَهَا أَهْلاً قُلْتُ نَعَ٠ِنِينَ قَالَ جَزَاكَ الله عَنِّي خَيْراً ثُ٠َ إِلَى السِّرَاجِ فَأَغْشَاهَا وَجَلَسَ ثُ٠َا أَغْشَيْتُ السِّرَاجَ لِئَلاَّ أَرَى ذُلَّ حَاجَتِكَ فِي وَجْهِكِ فَتَكَلَّ٠ِعْتُ رَسُولَ الله (صلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) يَقُولُ الْحَوَائِجُ أَ٠ِنَ الله فِي صُدُورِ الْعِبَادِ فَ٠َهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ عِبَادَةٌ وَ٠َنْ أَفْشَاهَا كَانَ حَقّاً عَلَى ٠ِعَهَا أَنْ يَعْنِيَهُ.

I have heard the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, say, “Needs are trust of Allah in His servants’ chests. For those who keep such trust out of public sight, the reward for worship is written for them; for those who make such trust public, it then becomes necessary for those who come to know it to help.’” رسل - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (6/151))
