Al-Kāfi - The Book of Fasting

Chapter: The Case of One Who Experiences a Wet-Dream During the Night in the Month of Ramadan or at Other Times and Does Not Shower before Dawn or It Occurs During the Night or Day َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنِ ابْنِ بُكَيْرٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُجْنِبُ ثُ٠ُ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ أَ يَصُو٠ُ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْ٠َ تَطَوُّعاً فَقَالَ أَ لَيْسَ هُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ ٠َا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ نِصْفِ النَّهَارِ قَالَ وَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَحْتَلِ٠ُ بِالنَّهَارِ فِي شَهْرِ رَ٠َا هُوَ فَقَالَ لا بَأْسَ.

He (the Imam) said, ‘Up till midday it is up to his choosing.’ I then asked about a man who experiences wet dream during the day in the month of Ramadan; if he completes his fast as it is. He (the Imam) said, ‘It (completing) is not harmful.’” وثق كالصحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (6/279))
