A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from âAbd al-Malik ibn âUtbah al- Hashimiy who has said the following: âI once asked abu âAbd Allah (a.s.), about the case of an old man and an old woman who are very weak for fasting in the month of Ramadan.
He (the Imam) said, âThey pay a ransom of one mud (a certain measurement) of wheat for every day.ââ صØÙØ - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (6/302))
