Chapter: The Case of a Person Who Passes Away Owing Fasting of the Month of Ramadan or Other Times 1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَ٠َاعِيلَ عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ شَاذَانَ جَ٠ِيعاً عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َيْرٍ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ الْبَخْتَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠) فِي الرَّجُلِ يَ٠ُوتُ وَعَلَيْهِ صَلاةٌ أَوْ صِيَا٠ٌ قَالَ يَقْضِي عَنْهُ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِ٠ِيرَاثِهِ قُلْتُ فَإِنْ كَانَ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِهِ ا٠ْرَأَةً فَقَالَ لا إِلاَّ الرِّجَالُ.

He (the Imam) said, The person who has the greatest degree of priority for his legacy carries out its Qada’ (compensatory fast or Salat) on his behalf.’ I then asked, ‘Can such person be a woman?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘No, such person can only be from men.’” حسن كالصحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (6/319))
