Al-Kāfi - The Book of Haj

Chapter: The Hajj of Adam, ‘Alayhi al-Salam 4ـ عَلِيٌّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠ُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَ٠َّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠ِنًى تَلَقَّتْهُ الْ٠َلائِكَةُ فَقَالُوا يَا آدَ٠ُ بُرَّ حَجُّكَ أَ٠َا إِنَّهُ قَدْ حَجَجْنَا هَذَا الْبَيْتَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَحُجَّهُ بِأَلْفَيْ عَا٠4.

Ali has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Mu‘awiyah ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that when Adam left Mina (for Makkah), the angels met him saying, “Good for you is your Hajj; however, we have performed Hajj around this House two thousand years before your Hajj.’”” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (7/18))
