Al-Kāfi - The Book of Haj

Chapter: The Excellence of Hajj and ‘Umrah, and the Reward Thereof ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنِ الْحَجَّالِ عَنْ غَالِبٍ عَ٠َّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠) قَالَ الْحَجُّ وَالْعُ٠ِنْ أَسْوَاقِ الآخِرَةِ وَالْعَا٠َا فِي جِوَارِ الله إِنْ أَدْرَكَ ٠ُلُ غَفَرَ الله لَهُ وَإِنْ قَصَرَ بِهِ أَجَلُهُ وَقَعَ أَجْرُهُ عَلَى الله.

If they find what they hope, Allah grants them forgiveness, but if the appointed time for his death did not give him a chance, the reward for him remains with Allah.” رسل - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (7/134))
