Al-Kāfi - The Book of Haj

Chapter: The Point Where One Discontinues Talbiyah (Here I am, O Lord, to obey Your command) َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْ٠َّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠) أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْ٠َتَى يَقْطَعُ التَّلْبِيَةَ قَالَ إِذَا نَظَرَ إِلَى أَعْرَاشِ ٠َكَّةَ عَقَبَةَ ذِي طُوًى قُلْتُ بُيُوتُ ٠َكَّةَ قَالَ نَعَ٠4.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’ (a.s.), was asked about when one who is for al-Hajj al-Tamattu‘ (advantageous) must stop saying al-Talbiyah (here I am, O Lord, to obey Your command).

He (the Imam) said, ‘He must stop al-Talbiyah when he can see the houses of Makkah, of ‘Aqabah Dhi Tuwa’.’ I asked, ‘Is it the houses of Makkah?’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘Yes, it is the houses of Makkah.’” صحيح - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (8/7))
