A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu âAbd Allah from al-Hassan ibn Yusuf from Zakariyaâ al-Muâmin from Ali ibn Maymun al-Saâigh who has said the following: âOnce a man came to see Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), and he (the Imam) asked him, âHave you come to perform al-Hajj?â He replied, âYes, I intend to do so.
He (the Imam) asked, âDo you know what the reward for al-Hajj is?â He replied, âNo, I do not know.â He (the Imam) said, âFor one who comes to perform al-Hajj, walks seven times around the House, performs two Rakâat salat (prayer), Allah writes seventy thousand good deeds.
He deletes seventy thousand of his sinful deeds, raises for him seventy thousand degrees, accepts his intercession for seventy thousand wishes, and writes for him the reward for setting free seventy thousand slaves, each worth ten thousand dirhams.ââ ضعÙÙ - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (8/29))
