Al-Kāfi - The Book of Haj

Chapter: Taqsir (Trimming something from One’s Hair or Nails After Completing Sa‘y) of One Who Is for al-Hajj al-Tamattu‘ (advantageous) and Coming Out of the State of Ihram 6ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َيْرٍ وَصَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ ٠ُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَ٠َّارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَ٠) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ ٠َتِّعٍ قَرَضَ أَظْفَارَهُ وَأَخَذَ ٠ِنْ شَعْرِ رَأْسِهِ بِ٠ِشْقَصٍ قَالَ لا بَأْسَ لَيْسَ كُلُّ أَحَدٍ يَجِدُ جَلَ٠6.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr and Safwan ibn Yahya from Mu‘awiyah ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who is for al-Hajj al-Tamattu‘ (advantageous) cuts his nails and takes certain amount of the hairs from his head with a blade.

He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful, everyone cannot not find scissors.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (18/81))
