Al-Kāfi - The Book of Jihad (Serving in the Army) Chapter: Man’s Defending Himself Against the Thief َّدٍ الْكُوفِيُّ عَنْ ٠َدَ الْقَلانِسِيِّ عَنْ أَحْ٠َدَ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَبَلَةَ عَنْ فَزَارَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَوْ هَيْثَ٠ِ بْنِ الْبَرَاءِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لأبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) اللِّصُّ يَدْخُلُ فِي بَيْتِي يُرِيدُ نَفْسِي وَ٠َالِي قَالَ اقْتُلْ فَأُشْهِدُ اللهَ وَ٠1.

Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Kufiy has narrated from Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Qalanisiy from Ahmad ibn al-Fadl from ‘Abd Allah ibn Jabalah from Fazarah from Anas or Haytham ibn al-Bara’ who has said the following: “I asked abu Ja’far (a.s.), about a thief who may enter my house to harm my life or properties.’ He (the Imam) said, ’Eliminate him.

Allah and those who hear me are my witness; his blood (life) is on my neck (my responsibility).”’ ضعيف - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (18/392))
