Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from Ibrahim ibn Ishaq al-Ahmar from âAbd Allah ibn Hammad from âUmar ibn Yazid who has said the following: âOnce, when I was present, a man came to abu âAbd Allah (a.s.), asking to pay his debts.
He (the Imam) said, âThere is nothing with us today; however, tomorrow we will receive Khitr and wasma (henna) which will be sold and Allah willing, we will help you.â The man then said, âPromise me.â He (the Imam) said, âHow can I promise you if I am more hopeful for what I do not expect than for what I do expect to happen?ââ ضعÙÙ - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (MirʾÄt al-Ê¿UqÅ«l fÄ« Sharḥ AkhbÄr Äl al-RasÅ«l (19/48))
