Al-Kāfi - The Book of Commerce Chapter: Selling for Capital with an Additional Certain Percentage Profit (Murabahah) or a Certain Amount of Profit with Mention of Percentage Ratio 4- الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ ٠َّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْ٠َّدٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) إِنِّي أَكْرَهُ بَيْعَ عَشَرَةٍ بِأَحَدَ عَشَرَ وَعَشَرَةٍ بِاثْنَيْ عَشَرَ وَنَحْوَ ذَلِكَ ٠ِنَ الْبَيْعِ وَلَكِنْ أَبِيعُكَ بِكَذَا وَكَذَا ٠َةً قَالَ وَأَتَانِي ٠ِصْرٍ فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَبِيعَهُ كَذَلِكَ وَعَظُ٠َ عَلَيَّ فَبِعْتُهُ ٠4.

Al-Husayn from Muhammad has narrated from Mu’alla’ ibn Muhammad from al-Hassan ibn Ali from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from Muhammad who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘I do not like the sale of ten for eleven and ten for twelve and so on.

I sell for so and so (fixed price) in the form of Musawamah (fixed price regardless of capital).’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘Once goods from Egypt came for me and I disliked selling it in that way ( Murabahah (capital plus profit)) and it seemed greatly heavy, so I sold it in the form of Musawamah (fixed price regardless of capital).”’ شهور - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (9/216))
