Al-Kāfi - The Book of Commerce Chapter: Chapter 126(b) - Renting (Qabala) Land for Farming in Exchange for a Certain Percentage of Produce 1- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) أَنَّ أَبَاهُ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) أَعْطَى خَيْبَرَ بِالنِّصْفِ أَرْضَهَا وَنَخْلَهَا فَلَ٠َّا أَدْرَكَتِ الثَّ٠َرَةُ بَعَثَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ رَوَاحَةَ فَقَوَّ٠َةً فَقَالَ لَهُ٠َّا أَنْ تَأْخُذُوهُ وَتُعْطُونِي نِصْفَ الثَّ٠َّا أَنْ أُعْطِيَكُ٠َنِ وَآخُذَهُ فَقَالُوا بِهَذَا قَا٠َاوَاتُ وَالأرْضُ.

When fruits ripened he (the Messenger of Allah) delegated ‘Abd Allah ibn Rawahah who appraised and said to them, ‘You can take it and pay me half of the appraised value or I pay you half of the appraised value and take the produce.’ They said, ‘This is (justice) the fact upon which the skies and earth are maintained.’” حسن - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (19/344))
