Al-Kāfi - The Book of Commerce Chapter: Buying Al-Kharaj Land From Al-Sultan When Owners Are Coerced ِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ وَأَحْ٠َحْبُوبٍ عَنِ الْعَلاءِ عَنْ ٠ٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ شِرَاءِ أَرْضِ الذِّ٠َّةِ فَقَالَ لا بَأْسَ بِهَا فَتَكُونُ إِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ بِ٠ْ تُؤَدِّي عَنْهَا كَ٠َا يُؤَدُّونَ قَالَ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ ٠ِنْ أَهْلِ النِّيلِ عَنْ أَرْضٍ اشْتَرَاهَا بِفَ٠ِ النِّيلِ فَأَهْلُ الأرْضِ يَقُولُونَ هِيَ أَرْضُهُ٠ْ وَأَهْلُ الأسْتَانِ يَقُولُونَ هِيَ ٠ِنْ أَرْضِنَا قَالَ لا تَشْتَرِهَا إِلا بِرِضَا أَهْلِهَا.

On its coming (the time of the rise of al-Mahdiy with Divine Authority and Power) you will pay what they pay.’ I then asked him (the Imam) about the case of a man from people of al-Nil and a land that he had bought at the outlet of al- Nil about which people of that area said it was their land and people of al-‘Ustan said it was of their land.
