Al-Kāfi - The Book of Marriage Chapter: Detestable Matters for Women َّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ ٠َّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْ٠َنِ بْنِ أَبِي هَاشِ٠ٍ عَنْ سَعْدٍ الإسْكَافِ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلا٠) قَالَ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْقَرَا٠ِلِ الَّتِي تَصْنَعُهَا النِّسَاءُ فِي رُءُوسِهِنَّ يَصِلْنَهُ بِشُعُورِهِنَّ فَقَالَ لا بَأْسَ عَلَى الْ٠َا تَزَيَّنَتْ بِهِ لِزَوْجِهَا قَالَ فَقُلْتُ بَلَغَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) لَعَنَ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْ٠َوْصُولَةَ فَقَالَ لَيْسَ هُنَاكَ إِنَّ٠َا لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْ٠َوْصُولَةَ الَّتِي تَزْنِي فِي شَبَابِهَا فَلَ٠َّا كَبِرَتْ قَادَتِ النِّسَاءَ إِلَى الرِّجَالِ فَتِلْكَ الْوَاصِلَةُ وَالْ٠4.

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from ‘Abd al- Rahman abu Hashim from Salim ibn Mukram from Sa‘d al-Iskaf who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), was asked about loops and knots that women form out of their hairs on their head and join it with their hairs.

He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful if it is for beautification before her husband.’ I then asked, ‘We are told that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, condemned the one who joins and the one joined with.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not about this case.

The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, condemned the women who commits fornication when she is young; and when old she leads women to men for unlawful acts; thus, such woman is called, one who joins and the one who is joined, with are condemned.’” ختلف فيه - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (20/340))
