Al-Kāfi - The Book of ‘Aqiqah (Offering Animal Sacrifice for a Newborn Child) Chapter: Resemblance of a Child عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُ٠َيْرٍ عَنْ هِشَا٠ُثَنَّى عَنْ سَدِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلا٠ِنْ سَعَادَةِ الرَّجُلِ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُ الْوَلَدُ يُعْرَفُ فِيهِ شِبْهُهُ خَلْقُهُ وَ خُلُقُهُ وَ شَ٠2.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hisham ibn al-Muthanna’ from Sadir who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘It is of good fortune of a man to have a son who resembles his father, physically, morally and in his nature.”’ حسن على الظاهر - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (1/10))
