Al-Kāfi - The Book of ‘Aqiqah (Offering Animal Sacrifice for a Newborn Child) عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِي٠َ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) اسْتَحْسِنُوا أَسْ٠ْ تُدْعَوْنَ بِهَا يَوْ٠ْ يَا فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ إِلَى نُورِكَ وَ قُ٠ْ يَا فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ لَا نُورَ لَكَ.

He (the Messenger of Allah) has said, ‘You should give yourselves good names; on the Day of Judgment you will be called with your names: O so and so son of so and so, stand up to your light and stand up, O so and so son of so and so, you have no light.’” جهول - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (21/34))
