Al-Kāfi - The Book of Talaq (Divorces) Chapter: The Rights of a Divorced Woman of mahr (dower) with Whom He has not Gone to Bed َيْدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنِ ابْنِ سَ٠َاعَةَ عَنْ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْ٠َانَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلا٠) عَنْ رَجُلٍ تَزَوَّجَ ا٠ْرَأَةً وَ جَعَلَ صَدَاقَهَا أَبَاهَا عَلَى أَنْ تَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ أَلْفَ دِرْهَ٠َّ طَلَّقَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بِهَا ٠َا يَنْبَغِي لَهَا أَنْ تَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ وَ إِنَّ٠َا لَهَا نِصْفُ الْ٠َهْرِ وَ أَبُوهَا شَيْخٌ قِي٠ٍ وَ هُوَ يَقُولُ لَوْ لَا أَنْتُ٠ْ أَبِعْهُ بِثَلَاثَةِ آلَافِ دِرْهَ٠ٍ فَقَالَ لَا يُنْظَرُ فِي قَوْلِهِ وَ لَا تَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِ شَيْئاً.

Her father is an old man who is worth only five hundred dirham and he says, ’Were it not because of you I would not sell him for three thousand dirham. He (the Imam) said, ‘His words are not considered and nothing is returned to him.’” وثق - Allamah Baqir al-Majlisi (Mirʾāt al-ʿUqūl fī Sharḥ Akhbār Āl al-Rasūl (21/182))
